Sembawang Shopping Centre Opened 22 December 2008

I have been looking forward to the opening of the Sembawang Shopping Centre (604 Sembawang Road, tel: 6757 8000) since the old shopping centre was torned down and it was finally opened yesterday!! It is within walking distance from my place and is more happening than the old shopping centre as there are alot of new exciting shops like my favourite Daiso, Esprit Factory Outlet, Starbucks, Fish and Co, Cotton On, MOF Japanese Sweets & Coffee, Giants and lot more.... However, not all the shops are opened yet.

Giants supermarket is opening tomorrow 24 December 2008, Starbucks is opening in February 2009, Fish and Co, Cotton On, Dino Cake House and Cafe, Subway, are still renovating. During my visit yesterday, Le Grenier a Pain, Daiso, Esprit outlet, Popular, Challenger, Kopitiam, M1 Shop, Guardian, Home Fix the D.I.Y Store, Bata, Beauty Language, The Body Shop, Alan & Guys, Comics Connection, MOF Japanese Sweets & Coffee, World of Sports and Aston Specialities are all opened. All the other shops are expected to be open in February 2009.

Free shuttle bus services are available from Khatib [yishun ave 2 - bus stop outside khatib mrt], Yishun [yishun ave 2 -bus stop outside yishun mrt] , Sembawang [bus stop outside sembawang mrt, next to the taxi stand] and Woodlands MRT [bus stop outside woodlands mrt exit c] (9.30am-10pm daily). I saw on its brochure that free parking is available till 28 February 2009.

Le Grenier a Pain, its brochure said that it is the first authentic French bakery in Singapore. I bought some mini bread to try and it was quite nice.

Aston Specialities, selling western food and heard from my brother that they are famous for their steaks and has another branch in East Coast.

Esprit Outlet, sells past season clothes and other items at cheaper prices. My mum bought a nice bag for only $59.90, the original price was $130+

Daiso Japan is my favourite store and everything in the store are selling for only $2!!! I have been hoping that they would have a branch nearby and my wish has really come true :> My mum and hubby also like their products and we bought alot of interesting and useful stuff home yesterday. Now i don't have to go to the Daiso branches at IMM, Plaza Singapura or Vivocity which are so far from my place. I could not resist taking some pictures of its products to share with everyone:

Nice boxes, i really like the black box with yellow flower design and ended up buying it ;>

I also bought this cute pink and red color strips box to store my cds

Kopitiam foodcourt, i really like the food at the Korean food stall and had bbq chicken set (choice of spicy or non-spicy) for lunch and chicken soup for dinner!!!

Chicken soup (non-spicy)

Hubby ordered chicken bibimbap and it was delicious too

MOF Japanese Sweets & Coffee, we went for desserts after dinner and it was a great dinning experience! There are no service charge and you have to order and pay at the cashier and during their soft launch, there is a 10% discount but i'm not sure when the promotion would end.

I'm tempted to try the sandwich which looks delicious and would do it on my next visit

Hubby and i decided to share a drink and macho imo (ice cream with green tea sauce, red bean and super addictive, yummy and heavenly deep fried Japanese sweet potatoes!!!)

The Ice Macha float drink with ice-cream was refreshing and nice
