Handbag Cleaning 101

It's amazing how the handbag has gone from just an accessory to a staple in a woman's wardrobe. We all love our handbags and, depending on how much money you spend, they can become a real investment. That's why it's important to care for your bag properly to ensure that it has a long life. Periodic cleaning and correct storage will keep your bag looking like new.

Cleaning Your Handbag How-To
1. Empty all pockets and shake gently to remove dust and debris.

2. Clean interior of bag by gently pulling it inside out and using a lint roller. If you can't pull out the lining of your handbag, you can use the fabric brush attachment on your vacuum.

3. Clean exterior of leather bag with alcohol free baby wipes.

Tips for Extending the Life of Your Handbag
1. If there is a big stain, don't try to clean it yourself. Take it to a leather expert as soon as possible.

2. If your handbag does not have "feet" on the bottom, you can have them added by a leather-care expert. Feet protect the bottom of the bag from scratches and dirt.

Tips for Keeping the Interior Clean
1. Never put a pen in your purse without a cap on it.

2. Keep makeup in a separate makeup bag.
Tips for Handbag Storage
1. Handbags can be hung on a hook for a few days, but any longer puts too much strain on the straps.

2. Fill handbags loosely with balls of tissue paper to help keep the shape; stiff bags don't need this.

3. Put handbag in the storage bag it came with. If it didn't come with a roomy drawstring sack then make one out of cotton or use a pillow case.

4. Ideally, handbags would be stored in cubbies built into your closet, but you can also store them in baskets or bins made of plastic-coated wire. Stand them upright or lay them down and don't crowd them. They need to breathe, so don't put a tight-fitting lid on.

Channel U has started showing another interesting Korean family drama (70 episodes) recently . The drama is shown on Channel U every Saturday and Sunday, 7.30pm - 9.30pm. Those interested can also watch it online at http://www.mysoju.com/familys-honor/.

This 2008 drama explores the tangled and less than perfect lives of the illustrious Ha family. Centered on the filial granddaughter of the household Ha Dan Ah (Yoon Jung Hee) who is very dignified and beautiful yet also pitiful. Dan Ah was married in her 20's, but due to an unforeseen event her husband died in a car accident during their honeymoon. She will be pursued by two men, a man from a rich family, Lee Kang Suk (Park Shi Hoo) and a man who's younger than her, Jung Hyun Kyu (Lee Hyun Jin). The drama will be about the Ha Family and how they try to hold up to the reputation of their family name.

The drama started with Dan Ah participating in a seminar in Jeju island. Meanwhile, there’s something happening at a motel in the outskirts of Seoul. Dan Ah's second brother Tae Young is caught cheating with another woman by his wife at the motel and as he leaves the place he sees his sister-in-law come out of the same motel with another man.

After that incident, his elder brother Soo Young begins seeing Jin Ah, and he meets Mal Soon. President Ha Seok Ho (Dan Ah's father) is widowed and he finds out that his girlfriend, Lee Young In, is pregnant. Then his grandfather suddenly passes away. Lee Cheong Gab and his son Lee Kang Seok hear about the death of Chairman Ha Man-ki and they think it would be a good idea to attend the funeral as a way to establish themselves in high society and break away from their “nouveau riche” status. So they attend the funeral.

Dan Ah meets Lee Kang Seok once again. During the funeral, Dan Ah has to handle the disturbing news that her father’s girlfriend is pregnant and that her brother’s wife is having an affair while grieving for her great grandfather. After the funeral is over, the wives of her two brothers ask for a divorce and leave them.

Now Dan Ah is the only lady in the household and is in charge of preparing the ancestral rites. Hyun Gyu tries to help Dan Ah during these difficult times. Meanwhile, Lee Kang Seok is a thorn in her side as he keeps showing up and creating problems for her. Then, she has to grapple with the news that her father wants to marry his girlfriend, Young In, because she is pregnant. Every member in her family enters new romantic relationships....

Hong Kong Drama - Beyond the Realm of Conscience/ 宮心計

Set in mid-800's Tang Dynasty, Beyond the Realm of Conscience (33 episodes) tells the story of Lau Sam Ho, a palace maid, and her struggles of securing her position in the medieval kingdom. This TVB drama started showing in Hong Kong on 19 October 2009 and i can't wait to start watching the drama soon as i like Tavia Yeung and Moses Chan who are both acting in the drama. I love watching them together in "Moonlight Resonance" and can't wait to see them acting together again. The opening theme 《攻心計》is sung by Susanna Kwan and ending theme 《風車》(Windmill) is sung by Charmaine Sheh.

Imperial Household Bureau is responsible for managing and directing all household services to the Emperor and the Imperial family in Tong Dynasty. It is comprised of four departments, namely Jewels, Attire, Food and Furnishings. LAU SAM HO (Charmaine Sheh) and YIU KAM LING (Tavia Yeung) are introduced into the bureau in their tender age and brought up in the disciplines of the palace. The two girls are diligent. YUEN TSUI WAN (Susanna Kwan), Head of the Jewels, and CHUNG SUET HA (Michelle Yim), Head of the Attire, are both very fond of HO for she is a kind-hearted young girl. Soon, they start fighting for the fellowship of HO.

HO always remembers her mother's words left to her before she passed away, that she was told, 'Doing good deeds, Speaking good words, Showing goodwill'. She lives her life of being gracious and kind-hearted in the palace. On the other hand, LING believes her survival in palace is achieved through cruel and calculating tactics. She cheats and schemes her way to the top and finally becomes the concubine. Though she realizes that HO has fallen in love with the chess master KO HIN YEUNG (Kevin Cheng), her jealousy is still arouses by HO's attraction to the Emperor LEE YI (Moses Chan).

Fearing that she is losing power, she ruthlessly makes up a false allegation against HO for murdering the Empress (Mary Hon) and condemns her to death. No matter how clever she is to scheme, things do not go the way she planned. By using a strong comparison of the two distinctive characters, HO and LING, the message of the drama is that "benevolence" is the only way to gain final victory.
