Korean Drama - The Partner

Starhub Cable TV Channel 173, KBS World has been showing alot of nice drama (with English subtitles) recently and i chanced upon this latest 16 episodes Korean drama "Partner" starring actor Lee Dong Wook and actress Kim Hyeon Joo, while channel surfing on Wednesday night. The drama is showing on KBS World every Wednesday and Thursday 9pm.

Actress and former Miss Korea Lee Honey stars as a lawyer with talent and sex appeal. The first time for the 27-year-old to star in a drama. I watched episode 3 of the drama and it was quite interesting and focuses on the edgy, thrilling lives of lawyers with more reality and humanism.. This drama is currently still showing in Korea. Those with no cable tv can also watch it online at (http://www.mysoju.com/partner/) with English subtitles :>

The drama revolves around two law firms, Leekim and Haeyoon, and the competitive lives of the lawyers fighting for justice and, interestingly enough, one another.

Kim Hyeon Joo 31, ("In-soon is Pretty", 2007) plays the widow-turned-lawyer who gets tangled up in a relationship with the talented and ruthless attorney Lee Tae Jo, played by Lee Dong Wook ("Heartbreak Library", 2008). In order to bring realism to television viewers, KBS built a life-size set of a Seoul High Court room, and also filmed the court scenes with a relay mobile, the first time for a television drama to do so in a bid to add intensity.

“Who is your partner?”

When you take a look at the definition of ‘Partner’, it gives you synonyms such as colleague, sharer, spouse, and accomplice. Partner is a person who is strongly associated with me; the one who knows me very well and stays by my side.

The word ‘Partner’ takes a different meaning when it is used in law firm. Partners are the people who survived from the power struggle. They are executives who are on the top of the law firm pyramid.

Enterprises are law firm’s partners. Law firms fight each other to become a partner of business. They struggle to be close to power and to become a slave of money. There are some lawyers who want be the partners of commoners as well. They are willing to be the spokesperson for the underprivileged. It is a story about partner; the one who is going to stay by your side and fight together in front of law.
