I have finished watching drama "The Threshold of A Persona" and another exciting Hong Kong drama that i have been looking forward to watching has finally started showing in Hong Kong. The third installment of Burning Flame (32 episodes) started its run on Monday, 6 July 2009 . The first episode managed to draw 2.4 million viewers and achieved 36 points average rating and peaked at 38 points.. Similar to its predecessors shown in 1998 and 2002, Burning Flame 3 tells the story of a group of firefighters who strive to protect the safety and well-beings of the citizens of Hong Kong. They work in extreme conditions to rescue victims and through these trying times, the beauty of human nature shines through. Burning Flame III will have a new storyline and will not continue where its predecessor left off. However the main theme is still on firefighters' duties and challenges. Wong Hei will continue his legacy as a firefighter alongside the other main casts Kevin Cheng, Bosco Wong and Myolie Wu.
Besides focusing on firefighters' duties, Burning Flame 3 also sheds light on father and son relationship between Wong Hei and his onscreen father Kong Hong. Moreover there are also romantic plots including a budding love triangle between Wong Hei and his onscreen best friend and colleague Kevin Cheng for female lead Myolie Wu. At the same time Kevin Cheng is also being pursued by Leanne Li. Bosco Wong will have love line with Aimee Chan and Stephen Wong will be romantically involved with Elaine Yiu.
The leader of the group of firemen, Chung Yau Sing (Wong Hei), encouraged Fong Lei On (Bosco Wong) to take up the challenge and join the team. Lei On gets to know Cheuk Pak Yue, (Kevin Cheng) who was once buddies with Yau Sing but has since drifted apart due to a misunderstanding. Lei On sides with Yau Sing and as a result, his relationship with Pak Yue suffers. Lei On believes that Pak Yue has stolen Yau Sing's girlfriend, Ko Wai Ying (Myolie Wu) and also caused Yau Sing serious injuries.
However, a terrible fire accident draws the team together in a twist of fate. The team of firefighters reflect and search for a deeper sense of awareness among themselves. I did not watch the earlier 2 seasons of the drama but i'm definitely going to watch season 3 as my favourite actress Myolie Wu has a part in this drama. I also like watching Wong Hei's acting and he had acted in the previous 2 seasons of the drama. The ending theme song titled "有意" is sung by Kevin Cheng & Myolie Wu.
