This taiwanese idol drama is a sequel to the 2005 teen idol hit, "It Started With A Kiss". The story continues with newly married high school sweethearts Zhishu (Joe Cheng) and Xiangqin (Ariel Lin) grappling with married life in a series of trial and comic moments. The kissing scenes were the main draw of the show and there were more than 40 in the entire series. I remember watching the first season of the drama in 2005 and liking it alot. Compared to the first season, the sequel pales in comparison as the plot is quite similiar and might get boring at times. The only difference is the main characters are tackling new issues in their married life.
I guess the first season which focuses on first love was quite sweet and thus more popular compared to the sequel which focuses on married life. I have watched 5 episodes so far and find the sequel quite entertaining (also because there was not much to watch on tv on a Saturday night) and it was good that the entire cast from the first season was back for the sequel as there was great chemistry among them. It was also quite sweet watching Zhishu secretly and quietly supporting and caring for Xiangqin in whatever she was doing.
In the sequel,the story continues with what happens after their marriage. The couple still goes through rough patches such as experiencing problems and interferences within their marriage like a mistaken pregnancy, misunderstandings, and a run-in with a girl from Zhi Shu's past. As Zhi Shu and Xiang Qin struggle with their professional ambitions, they also struggle with their personal relationship. Many times, Zhi Shu's coldness and harshness drives Xiang Qin to tears and she tries to run away. Zhi Shu himself tries to push Xiang Qin to higher ambition and making a life for herself. Zhi Shu soon learns to love Xiang Qin and forgive her bumbling ways, and Xiang Qin tries harder to become a better wife and nurse for her husband.
Zhi Shu and Xiang Qin are not the only ones having problems with their relationship. Xiang Qin's childhood friend Ah Jin (Jiro Wang) deals with the affections of an English exchange student who latches onto him against his will. Xiang Qin's friend, Chun Mei (Petty Yang), gets pregnant by her boyfriend, Ah Bu (Arron Yan), but his wealthy, highbrow mother is desperate to keep them apart. Zhi Shu's younger brother Yu Shu (Zhang Bo Han) deals with his own first love.
