Japanese Drama - Hotaru no Hikari Season 2

I just watched 3 episodes of Hotaru no Hikari Season 2 online at (http://www.mysoju.com/hotaru-no-hikari-2/) and (http://www.dramacrazy.net/japanese-drama/hotaru-no-hikari-2/) and love it!!! Can't wait to get its DVD set once its out in the store. This 11 episodes drama has been showing in Japan since 7 July 2010 and i first watched season 1 in 2007 and have been waiting for 3 years for the new season.

Hotaru no Hikaru 2 returns again with Amemiya Hotaru (Ayase Haruka) now considering marriage to her boss Takano Seiichi (Fujiki Naohito). Will they really get married in the end?? I really hope so as they are such a funny and cute couple in the drama. Originally based on a shoujo manga by Satoru Hiura, season 1 tells the story of a young office lady named Hotaru, who has no interest in romance and instead prefers spending her time lazily at home. However, her life changes when circumstances lead her to live under the same roof as her boss. Although season 1 focused on Hotaru's reawakening to love, "Hotaru no Hikari 2" will be more about her path towards possible marriage...

After watching 3 episodes of season 2, i still finds it as interesting as Season 1 and i love how there is even more focus on Hotaru and Takano's relationship. I also love seeing their constant bickering and Takano's constant nagging at Hotaru which is kinda sweet. It was also comical how he tried confessing his love for her while she was stuffing her mouth full of goya (seems like bittergourd to me) and to engross in eating to really listen to his confession! Haha .... I was laughing like crazy!!! The acting among Ayase and Fujiki are superb and natural.

I can't believe Hotaru would prefer eating than being touched by Takano's love confession. It was also funny how she tried hard to explain to Takano that it is her first time trying to hold back on eating her favorite food for the person she love in her own cute innocent way. Imagine breaking out in hives due to holding back on eating your favorite food?? Hahaha thats quite extreme. But that's the sort of thing you can imagine happening to Hotaru. She is really a strange but loveable character. And leaving the house after fighting over goya with Takano??? I really love this drama :> and can't wait for the next episode.

What i don't like about this drama is the new character Asada Konatsu who is supposedly Takano's ex-girlfriend and appears more mature and capable than Hotaru. It is obvious that she still likes Takano and her daughter even calls him father! Initially i thought Hotaru had hives as she was frustrated with their relationship and Takano constantly spending time with them. But *Faint* her frustration was actually linked to food!!! Haha... Hopefully Konatsu would not disrupt their relationship.

I love that most of the original cast are still around like supporting characters Futatsugi and Yamada who makes a very cute couple in the drama. They seem to be Hotaru and Takano's unofficial relationship adviser in the drama and always tries to help them whenever they face obstacle in their relationship. Actor Mukai Osamu is also quite cute as Hotaru's colleague Seno Kazuma who seems to be a frivolous guy, leaves work at precisely 5.00 p.m. because he is on a ’9 to 5 contract’ worker. However he is good at his work and popular with females. It seems that he will also have feelings for Hotaru although i still prefer her and Takano.

It’s been revealed that the drama series, “Hotaru no Hikari“, will be getting a movie adaptation!

“Hotaru no Hikari” first aired in 2007 and was based on Hiura Satoru’s popular manga. Actress Ayase Haruka had played the role of a ‘himono onna‘ named ‘Amemiya Hotaru’, who would rather stay at home and sleep than fall in love. She’s the perfect office lady while at work, but at home, she lounges about in her jersey while drinking beer. Amemiya’s love interest and boss, ‘Director Takano‘ was played by the actor Fujiki Naohito. At the time, “Hotaru no Hikari” received an average viewer rating of 13.7%, with the highest being 17.3%.

Amemiya and Takano got married in the drama’s sequel, which aired in July of last year. This gained even more fans, and set a record with the average rating of 15.5%.

This upcoming movie takes place two years later, when Amemiya decides to go on a honeymoon in Rome after hearing Takano’s dream of “spending the holidays in Rome with the person I love.

When I first heard about the movie adaptation, I was surprised! But I am looking forward to arguing with ‘buchou’ in Italy. I will do my best to produce a good movie that many people can laugh at,” expressed Ayase.

Fujiki also commented, “I was skeptical when I first heard of the movie adaptation. To have a heartwarming drama that takes place on a porch, I still can’t believe it. I have an attachment to the drama, so I am looking forward to playing ‘buchou’ again.
