Sweeter Slumbers

(Source: Shape Magazine Singapore, August 2008 edition)

Keep the mobile phone away before you go to bed. In a joint US and Swedish study, it was found that using the mobile phone for 3 hours or more before bedtime increases the amount of time you take to reach deep sleep by 6 minutes. It also shortens deep sleep by an average of 8 minutes and causes headaches. So, if you have trouble sleeping, don't talk on the phone right before you go to bed, and use a wireless or hands-free device to keep the signals away from the head, suggest the researchers.
