Woke up at 10am as we so were tired after the long flight the previous day. Have to reset my phone time as Tokyo is 1 hour ahead of Singapore. We had delicious bowl noodle in our room before going out.
Pretty Christmas tree in hotel lobby
Hubby and i planned to spend a relaxing day at Ginza shopping at our favorite Itoya, Apple store and have a nice and relaxing lunch at Muji Cafe and browsing at the interesting stuff at Muji shop. We were not sure where Muji cafe is located and were planning to just try our luck at looking for it. We chanced upon the cafe once when we were at Ginza during our first trip to Tokyo about 6 years ago and can't really recall where it is and plan to look for it as we wander around Ginza. We checked the weather report and luckily it will be sunny days for the whole week and we planned to go to Disneyland on the 3rd day and made reservations at the hotel for the free shuttle bus to Disneyland before leaving for Ginza. We decided to take the Yurikamome line from Daiba station to Shimbashi station and changed to the Ginza line to Ginza station and take the hotel shuttle bus to Shinagawa station next time.
We went to Itoya first and because this is our second trip there, there wasn't much new stuff that really fascinated us and we did not buy anything.
Cute laptop bags at Itoya
We went to the Apple store and were so fascinated by the Ipad and Iphone 4 window displays that we could not resist taking pictures ;> there were alot of people trying out the new Macbook Air and it is so light and slim and how i wish i could also own one hehe....I went in search of Ipad cover and found out that it is more expensive in Tokyo as i had checked the price in Singapore. The sales staff was very friendly and helpful and showed me all the available Ipad and Iphone 4 covers they have and i could even see the samples unlike in Singapore. Felt bad that i did not make any purchase in the end although the staff was still very smiley :> love shopping in Tokyo!
Even the lift in the apple store is so cool and stops automatically at each level and you do not have to select the level you want to go to.
Next we went to the Shiseido Parlour to buy its famous cheesecakes and its quite expensive and i ended up spending around S$80+ for 4 boxes of cheesecakes.
Tried it when we were back in the hotel room and it is really very tasty :>
We tried looking for Muji Cafe but could not locate it after walking for sometime and decided to go back to Odaiba for dinner as we were so tired after walking around. The sky turns dark by around 4.30pm and it feels like its almost 8pm. We decided to shop around at Aqua City near our hotel and have our dinner there. Aqua City is a large scale shopping complex located right next to Odaiba Kaihin Park. The ideal location also provides a spectacular view of the Statue of Liberty, Rainbow Bridge, and the Tokyo skyline in the distance. Aqua City offers a shopping zone consisting of approximately 80 stores, most of which being casual fashion stores based on the theme of “Tokyo Reso-to (Tokyo Resort Island)” where you can almost feel the refreshing sea breeze. There is also a Gourmet Zone, the largest in the Rinkai area, which offers a wide variety of restaurants including Japanese, Western, Chinese, and Italian restaurants.
We had a delicious and satisfying lunch at a food court which sells various types of Ramen. We decided to sit outside which has a beautiful view of Rainbow bridge and Tokyo Tower and since the weather was nice and not that cold. I love the ramen which was very crunchy and q and the soup was tasty. The fried noodle was also delicious but the gyoza taste normal and not that fantastic.
I also bought some interesting dog food for my brother's dog Snowy from the huge pet shop at the basement of Aqua City. The shop sells alot of interesting treats and toys for dogs. We also went to the duty free shop and Daiso located in the shopping centre to shop around before going back to the hotel. Have to wake up early the next day as we are taking the 8.30am shuttle bus to Disneyland :>
