It Had to Be You - Susan Elizabeth Phillips

I just finished reading this entertaining and comical romance novel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips and would definitely recommend it to fellow book lovers who loves to just read a simple and heart-warming love story. "It Had To Be You" is the first book of the Chicago Stars series which was published in 1994. Since then the writer has gone on to write more exciting stories ("Heaven, Texas", "Nobody's Baby But Mine", "Natural Born Charmer" etc...) about the other characters which appeared in the first book. I'm gonna start reading another book "This Heart of Mine" of the same series which tells the story of Molly Somerville (Phoebe's half sister) and her relationship with the star player of the Chicago Star, Kevin Tucker, which i had already borrowed from the library.

In "It Had to Be You", The Windy City isn't quite ready for Phoebe Somerville -- the outrageous, curvaceous New York knockout who has just inherited the Chicago Stars football team. After fleeing the family years prior due to a traumatic incident from her past and being disowned by her late father, Phoebe is back in Chicago at the reading of her father's will when she learns that she has inherited his beloved football team - provided they win the AFC championship. Otherwise, it automatically goes to her cousin Reed, who had always bullied her when she was small.

The problem is Phoebe knows nothing about football and people sees her as a bimbo, airhead....And Phoebe is definitely not prepared for the Stars' head coach Dan Celebow, a sexist jock taskmaster with a one-track mind.
