Tip of the day

Embrace Beansprouts!

Stop picking the beansprouts out of your laksa-they're probably the most nutritious part of the dish. Studies have shown that in comparison to dried seeds, sprouted foods contain an amazing amount of nutrients. During the sprouting process, the levels of vitamins, minerals and proteins increase substantially while the calorie and carbohydrate contents decrease. Beansprouts-or mung bean sprouts-contain pure forms of vitamins A,B,C and E, minerals like calcium and iron, and are also cholesterol free. Looks like it's time to ask for extra servings next time you order a bowl of laksa!
