Okinawan Diet
The people of Okinawan, Japan, consume a healthy fusion diet- a combination of the best from the East and the West. Their diet consists largely of legumes, fish, green and yellow vegetables, as well as spices like ginger and garlic. It may not be a coincidence that Okinawa has the most centenarians in the world.
Cabbage
The Irish consume a lot of cabbage, a cruciferous vegetable. This group of vegetables is believed to be beneficial in treating illnesses like diabetes, ischemic stroke, and cancers of the breast, pancreas, gastrointestinal system and lungs.
Lentils
The people of the Middle East believe that lentils have many health benefits, some of which have been proven by researchers. According to clinical studies, people who eat a diet rich in beans have a lower risk of heart disease and cancer.
Turmeric
The people of India use large amounts of turmeric in their curries. According to research, curcumin, a compound found in turmeric, may have anti-tumour, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
