Little White Lies-Bernadette Strachan
I just reserved a book "Little White Lies" by Bernadette Strachan Hodder from the National Library (NLB) Website: http://www.nlb.gov.sg after reading its book review on the Mar 08 issue of "Simply Her" Magazine. The plot seems kinda of interesting and i always enjoy reading a nice good romance novel :>
The story is about a jilted bride, Billie Baskerville, who is summoned by her Aunt Barbara to remotest Sussex – Aunt Babs is going to Australia on a OAP-GAP year, and needs Billie to take over running her shop... her wedding dress shop.
Putting a cynical, groom-hating, wedding-loathing, bride-detesting girl in charge of a bridal boutique might seem a little rash, but before long Billie can`t help but get swept away by the romance of the whole thing, and by village life. She gives the shop a much-needed makeover, reunites lovers - not to mention longlost relatives - and starts rebuilding her own life.
It`s all starting to look up, even if her family are crazy, her gay best friend is the talk of the village, and Billie is still emailing her ex. Enter, stage left, a very handsome firefighter....
I decided to borrow the book as i only need to pay $1.55 to reserve the book online and i can normally get the book within a week and i do not have to spend $17.96 buying it. I only buy books when Kinokuniya has 20% storewide discount for members and as it is not frequent, borrowing from NLB is the best! Also my bookselves are already full and i don't have sufficient space for new books. I also have a habit of collecting magazines which takes up lot of space and by borrowing books from NLB, I can save money and not clutter my home further.
It is so convenient to reserve the books i want online and just pick it up at the branch library near my home. So for those who likes to read and have not used the NLB online reservation service, do try it and i'm sure you would be hoooked like me ;>
