Recently, Hong Kong dramas have been receiving low viewers' rating. Additionally, viewers are getting overloaded with ancient / traditional dramas. There is finally a turn of events with the return of the acclaimed fresh and modern family drama "Just Love II". It is a sequel to 2005's Just Love (老婆大人) and has been showing in Hong Kong since 4 May 2009. I enjoyed watching season 1 of the drama and am looking forward to catching season 2 of this drama starring Jessica Hsuan and Sunny Chan, two of my favourite TVB artistes.
"Professional Woman and Judge" Ko Hei Man played by Jessica Hsuan is now encountering an avalanche of headaches and challenges: first, "Stay-at-home Husband" Kot Kwok Kwong (Sunny Chan) suddenly has a change of personality and decided to take back his masculinity; moreover, they are facing challenges in how to raise their adorable son "Ah B"; lastly, a friend-turned-love-rival in Ho Sau Sau (Joyce Tang) threatens to overtake Jessica's place as the mistress of the home...

A bond between justice and affection
Career-minded magistrate Hei Man gains full support from her loyal husband Kwok Kwong so that she is able to concentrate fully on her works. At court, Hei Man strongly believes that everyone is equal before the law and she tackles every challenge confidently. At home, she never bothers about the household duties which are all taken by husband and any complaints filed by mother-in-law. Hei Man just takes things for granted but fate continuously convince her that law cannot be applied to every situation.
Hei Man feels sympathized with Sau Sau who suffers from slight mental disorders. Trying to help, Hei Man allows her to come into her family but this creates an opportunity for Sau Sau to replace Hei Man's role as a wife and a mother completely. Kwok Kwong is seriously injured during a car accident. His relative Kot Tak Wan (Johnson Lee) lectures Kwok Kwong how to fight against Hei Man and this leads to serious communication breakdown between the couple. Swindler Ho Shi Fu HO (Benz Hui) appears in Hei Man's life as a hopeless villain from the lower class but he is in fact the father of a senior official.
"Just Love II" is a story about law and human nature. How would the couple tide over the difficulties?
It is rare for a family-oriented drama to have a sequel, but the last series of "Just Love" has won both acclaims and ratings - the highest point reaching 32 points. With the first day of broadcast of "Just Love II", many audience are already enamored with the sweet and entertaining storyline and the sparks amongst the cast. Additionally, the two-and-a-half year old young actor "Yip Tin Lok" is so adorable that he's quick becoming a favourites of all moms.
