Tonight is the big match between Spain and Italy and i hope that Spain will be able to retain their title as European Champions and i will definitely be supporting them tonight.
However it will be a tough match for the Spanish team as i have watched Italy's superb performance against Germany during the semi finals and they seem to get even better with each match they played!
Their playmaker 33 year-old Andrea Pirlo was working tireless that night and he was everywhere and you cannot miss his huge presence and influence in the game. The Germans were hot favorites for the final but Italy really deserved the finals spot as they did really well in the semi finals and the Germans seem overwhelmed by the Italians. I was also impressed with the 2 goals scored by 21 year-old "Super" Mario Balotelli in the match and he would be a huge danger and challenge for the Spanish defenders tonight.
Hopefully my favorite player in the Spanish team defender Sergio Ramos and his teammate Gerard Piqué will be able to keep 'super mario' in check. I love Ramos' cheeky penalty against Portugal during their semi final match and he also did a great job marking Cristiano Ronaldo in that match. Love his new look (short hair with beard) although i miss seeing him with long hair hehe ;) Hope he will be in top form tonight!
It was a pity my no. 1 top favorite soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo missed several scoring opportunities in the semi final match and did not even have the chance to take the final penalty shot. Portugal was another of my favorite team in Euro 2012 other than Spain and i feel that they have done reasonably well and they have several other good players (Pepe, Fábio Coentrão, Nani) other than Ronaldo and i was satisfied that they were able to get into the semi finals. I was so happy when Ronaldo scored 2 goals in the match against the Netherlands. Hopefully we will see more of the Portugal team and Ronaldo at the next World Cup in 2 years time :)
My cousin will be coming over to catch the big match tonight and we are going to feast on our usual iced coffee and cheese fries while watching the match and may the best team (hopefully SPAIN haha) win tonight and i hope to see Fernando Torres playing tonight and hopefully in top form and scoring for Spain and Xavi Hernandez working his playmaker magic for Spain!!! Vamos España!!!
