Starhub Channel 823 ONE will be showing this new SBS drama every Wednesdays and Thursdays starting from today at 7.50pm. "New Gisaeng Story" is a 50 episodes drama and started showing in Korea since 23 January 2011 and will end in July 2011. It is a drama combined with art and refinement, drawing the love, sorrow and pain around the characters of a group of ‘gisaeng’s. I have not decided if i will follow the drama as the reviews i read online isn't really great and the drama seems draggy at times and ratings have only improved recently.
I might just watch tonight's episode to just check out the drama out of curiosity but will not be following it weekly on TV as this drama falls under my list of dramas to watch if i'm really bored and have no other dramas to watch. However i'm currently busy watching "The Greatest Love" online, "Dong Yi" on Channel U, "GLEE" on Star World and will be planning to watch "Lie To Me" starring one of my favorite actress Yoon Eun Hye on "Starhub Channel ONE" starting from tomorrow 9.05pm. I'm also watching this new Hong Kong TVB drama "Ghetto Justice" starring my favorite actress Myolie Wu and has been enjoying each episodes which are quite fast paced and entertaining. This drama has also been getting good ratings and reviews in Hong Kong.

New Tales of Gisaeng depicts the love, sadness and pain of people surrounding a gisaeng house, where only VIPs can enter. Dan Sa Ran (Im Soo Hyang) majored in classical dance while attending college. Her mother died when she was still young and her father remarried, bringing with him a new stepsister and a materialistic stepmother whom she has trouble warming up to. Sa Ran comes from a poor family, but she maintains her dignity around friends who come from rich families. Either fate or coincidence brings her together with Da Mo (Sung Hoon), to whom she feels an instant attraction, but her awareness of her poor background restrains her from voicing it. A head gisaeng at Buyongkak observes Sa Ran’s natural beauty and grace as well as dancing talent, and recommends her to become a gisaeng.
Ah Da Mo takes business administration training at his father’s company. He does not get along with his father, who is indifferent towards his family and only shows affection towards their pet dog. Da Mo is cocky and tends to look down on women, but begins to question his attitude when he meets Sa Ran by chance. He finds himself involuntarily drawn to her, and their relationship begins.
