I have recently finished watching this 10 episodes Japanese Fuji TV drama online at(http://www.dramacrazy.net/japanese-drama/natsu-no-koi-wa-nijiiro-ni-kagayaku/) because of actress Yuko Takeuchi as i find her a very talented actress after watching several of her drama in the past. It has been several years since i watched her drama and i find the plot and her pairing up with actor and member of super popular idol group Arashi Jun Matsumoto interesting and refreshing in "Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku" (Summer Romance Shines in Rainbow Color). The theme song "Love Rainbow" is by Arashi.
Matsumoto has participated in different genres of entertainment: dramas, variety, music, movies, CMs. He appeared last year in Fuji TV Special drama “Saigo no Yakusoku”, in April - “Wagaya no Rekishi” broadcasted to celebrate 50 years of Fuji TV, but it’s the first time being a part of Monday9 drama, and renzoku, to just add. Yuko Takeuchi is known for her translucent beauty and versatile performances. Up till this moment she is known from such works as: “ Pride”, “Lunch no Joou”, “Fugiken na gene”, “Bara no nai hanaya”, and has appeared in Monday9 dramas few times.
The little girl that acted as Yuko Takeuchi's daughter Umi in the drama is also really cute and how i wish i will have a daughter like her :) She is so adorable and sweet in the drama. I always enjoys watching Yuko Takeuchi's acting and drama and have enjoyed watching her acting in this drama. This drama was shown in Japan in July 2010 and is an original love story by "Buzzer Beat" screenwriter Mika Omori. I have also enjoyed watching "Buzzer Beat" recently on cable TV :)
The drama is the tale of how these two come together and let down their guard with each other. Taiga finds this much easier than Shiori, because he has not been as hurt as Shiori was in the past. Taiga grows through his love of Shiori, and extends himself (by taking any acting job he can get, by working part-time, and by limiting his frivolous activities), and Shiori softens through her new emotions for Taiga.
In the drama, Taiga takes an actors’ workshop, and is abused on a daily basis, but his determination to be an actor like his father and his love for Shiori pushes him on. In the end, he is rewarded with the opportunity to work with a great director in a production of Hamlet. The audience finally gets to see Taiga in a scene where he is not flubbing his lines, he is not over thinking, he is just acting.
Yuko Takeuchi acted as Shiori Kitamura, a widow who is trying hard to raise her daughter by herself and is still finding it difficult to forget the tragic and sudden death of her husband before the birth of their child. While Shiori may seem confident and strong on the outside, she is afraid to love again and she has a relationship with Jun Matsumoto's character Taiga Kusunoki in the drama.
Taiga is the son of well known actor Kotaro Kusunoki and he is also an actor. He has difficulty getting acting jobs and is still trying to step out of his father's shadow and find his own self worth. He only gets to appear in variety shows, most of the time. His management company struggles to find work for Taiga, so Taiga usually spends his days with fellow second-generation actor Keita Ueno (Hideyuki Kasahara), who is also in a similar plight as Taiga. One day, the two friends go sky diving with Taiga losing losing control of his parachute. Taiga drifts away and eventually becomes stuck in a tree several miles away from his landing point. Then a woman named Shiori Kitamura passes by and helps free Taiga from the tree and he finds himself falling in love with her at first sight and being attracted to her. She is frank with him and will not hesitate to scold him if he is too self absorbed in himself and he finds her irresistible despite their different family background and her being older than him and with a child.
Shiori is a huge fan of Taiga's father and ended up working at his management company when his father passed away. Taiga's elder brother Daikin (Ikki Sawamura) is Umi's elementary school teacher and he also likes Shiori but was rejected by her. He ended up supporting Taiga in his relationship with Shiori.
