There is alot of interesting new Japanese dramas that are now showing in Japan and it seems that the majority are all suspense and detective dramas which i love and they are all starring my favorite Japanese artistes :) I'm currently watching 3 dramas at the same time, "Lady" which i had written about earlier, another drama "Gaikoukan Kuroda Kosaku" starring Oda Yuji which i will write about later and this Fuji TV drama "Control" starring Fujiki Naohito and Matsushita Nao. Matsushita's popularity has been increasing since her role in NHK’s morning drama series “Gegege no Nyobo“. "Control" started showing in Japan on 11 January 2011, every Tuesdays. I managed to watch an episode of "Control" online at (http://www.dramacrazy.net/japanese-drama/control/) and it was quite interesting and i will be continuing to watch it although i prefer "Lady" script which was better written and more fast impact and exciting but i feel too violent.

"Control" features Matsushita as a young and hot-blooded detective with a sense of justice, Segawa Rio that is fresh out of the academy with excellent grades. Her character ends up getting hospitalized not long after starting work at a small police station. After exiting the hospital, she gets transferred to the detached office of the MPD’s murder crime investigating department in order to prevent her from being an annoyance to others with her stubbornness.

While there, she gets mixed up with an eccentric and obstinate psychology professor Nagumo Jun, played by Fujiki Naohito, and another young and clever detective, played by Kanjani8’s Yokoyama Yu, who always had a crush on Matsushita’s character since their academy days. Together they end up solving various crimes thanks to their different personalities.

Segawa Rio, a quick-acting detective, gets transferred to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police’s Violent Crimes Division after she got shot during her previous case due to her impulsive nature and eagerness to catch the criminal. She is made to work together with Nagumo Jun, a level-headed but eccentric psychology professor at Ryonan University whose skills at behavioral analysis are the key to tracking down the criminals. He specializes in criminal psychology. She is stuck with babysitting Nagumo Jun, but displays innate earnestness and strives to do her best in investigations. Because Nagumo loves sweet things, especially buns filled with jam, he has the habit of getting wrapped up in eating and getting Segawa to buy the snacks for him further irritating her.

He analyzes all human actions from the perspective of psychology and detects lies and secrets with his sharp eyes and keen mind. However, he is detested for accurately guessing things which his subjects do not want revealed. He is able to see and appreciate Rio’s flair and essence as a detective, but he never shows it at all. There's also Teranishi Kei, a shy young detective who's had a crush on Segawa since their days at the academy. He is strong in subculture, and makes use of his knowledge and skills in investigations. He and Segawa Rio were in the same batch at the police academy and he got into the Tokyo Metropolitan Police earlier than her. He has liked Rio since their student day and supports Rio, who has been relegated to the “branch office”, from behind the scenes and becomes the intermediary between the division and her.

Kuwata Keisuke will sing the drama’s theme song, “Ginga no Hoshikuzu“; the track will also be included in Kuwata’s upcoming new album, MUSICMAN. Described as a track with an up-tempo sound, the lyrics are deep and sensitive, as they comment on existence, which only Kuwata (who recently overcame his esophageal cancer) could come up with.
