Manuka Honey

I read about the benefits of eating honey in the January 2010 issue of CLEO Magazine which says that "research from the University of California has shown that consuming honey can raise your antioxidant levels. Go one step further with Manuka honey, which has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties 100 times stronger than other honeys. Eat it to relieve diarrhoea, heartburn, cold symptoms and throat infections, or apply it onto wounds or sunburnt areas to aid healing".

As one of my new year resolution is to have a healthier lifestyle, i decided to check out the counter selling Manuka honey while at Giants supermarket as i have been thinking of buying Manuka honey since reading about its health benefits. The friendly promoter recommended me raw honey if i feel that Manuka honey is too sweet for regular consumation and patiently explained to me its benefits ( Raw, unprocessed & unfiltered honey which still contains bee pollen, propolis, bee wax as well as live enzymes, all of which can stimulate new tissue growth. A natural remedy for sore throat, stomach problems, burns, skin rashes, allergies, asthma and other ailments. Really Raw Honey is gathered from fields of wildflowers planted by nature, without pesticides or fertilizers) which is supposedly better than Manuka honey as it has more health benefits and is not as sweet as normal honey which suits those who can't take too much sweet stuffs. I ended up buying both bottles to try and hopefully it can boost my immune system as i have been sick with flu and sore throat quite frequently since i went back to work last year.
