The Beach House - Jane Green

I just finished reading this interesting book which i borrowed from the library. I had an enjoyable time reading the story about each of the interesting characters in the story and i took quite awhile to finished it as i was busy with work. I can only find time to read when i'm on the train to work. I'm looking forward to my short break next week so that i have time to read all the other interesting books from my favourite writers that i have borrowed from the library :>

In "The Beach House", it tells the story of Nan Powell, who is a free-spirited, sixty-five-year-old widow who’s not above skinny-dipping in her neighbors’ pools when they’re away and who dearly loves her Nantucket home. But when she discovers that the money she thought would last forever is dwindling, she realizes she must make drastic changes to save her beloved house. So Nan takes out an ad: Rooms to rent for the summer in a beautiful old Nantucket home with water views and direct access to the beach.

Slowly people start moving in to the house, filling it with noise, laughter, and with tears. As the house comes alive again, Nan finds her family and friends expanding. Her son Michael comes home for the summer to escape an ill-advised fling with his boss, there's Daniel, who's causing heartbreak for his wife Bee; recently divorced Daff, who feels she's lost touch with her daughter Jess; and an unexpected visitor who turns all their lives upside down.

With so many lost souls gathered under one roof, very soon there are tears and laughter, friendship and - for some - even love. Each one of them is hoping for a new beginning. But will any of them find it?
