Its really one bad news after another :( For more than two terrifying, seemingly endless minutes Friday, the most powerful earthquake ever recorded in Japan shook apart homes and buildings, cracked open highways and unnerved even those who have learned to live with swaying skyscrapers. Then came a devastating tsunami that slammed into northeastern Japan and killed hundreds of people. The quake was the largest ever to hit Japan, the fifth strongest tremor worldwide since 1900 and the seventh strongest in history, according to the US Geological Survey and Japanese seismologists. Cooling systems have malfunctioned at the two plants, the Fukushima No. 1 and No. 2 plants, both located in an area about 250km north-east of greater Tokyo, an urban area of 30 million people. Japan scrambled on Saturday to prevent nuclear accidents at the two atomic plants where reactor cooling systems failed after a massive earthquake Friday, and ordered 45,000 people living near one and 3,000 near the other to evacuate. I feel very sad when i read all this bad news as Japan is my most favorite holiday destination and i have been there 3 times and love the country and its friendly people. Hopefully things will get better and my heart goes to the people of Japan at this time of difficulty. Pray that everyone will stay safe and for no more bad news.
