Delicious Salmon Porridge Using Maggi Instant Fish Porridge

I love the new healthier choice and less salt instant porridge from Maggi and have tried the Abalone, fish and chicken flavor so far and my favorite is the fish porridge :> I also bought the duck porridge pack but have not cooked it yet. It is so easy to prepare and you just have to follow the simple and easy instructions at the back of the packet.

Just add 600ml of water per pack and i normally use 2 packs which is sufficient for 2 person. After the porridge is boiled, lower the fire and simmer for 10 minutes . I normally add an egg, dash of pepper, lot of sesame oil if you love the taste like me ;> and fresh salmon which i had seasoned with some pepper, light soya sauce and sesame oil in advanced.

Bought the instant porridge at S$1.50/- per pack from NTUC, the chicken flavor is the most popular of all the flavors and is frequently out of stock during my weekly visit to the supermarket.

The Exercise That's Best for Blood Sugar

Which exercise is best for blood sugar, walking or jogging? The answer might surprise you . . .

In a recent study, walking briskly for 30 minutes five times a week appeared to be more effective than jogging when it came to lowering diabetes risk.

Pick a Winner
Okay, so walking definitely has it merits. But so does running -- and swimming, and hiking, and biking. The kind of exercise that is best for you is something that you will do consistently -- whatever it may be. Just make sure you cover all the bases; you need a mix of strength, stamina, and flexibility training in your routine. (Ready to tie up your shoelaces and start walking? Walk It Off
As for walking vs. running: Both improve insulin sensitivity, which helps your body use glucose efficiently. But in a study, walking improved pancreatic function more than running did for a group of middle-aged, overweight, sedentary folks with high cholesterol. Why? Researchers suspect moderate-intensity exercise ramps up fat burning more than vigorous-intensity exercise -- and that could explain the results. (Get slim with this fat-burning walking workout video.)

3 Sweet Ways to Eat Less Sugar

Any idea how much sugar you eat in the course of a day? The amount might startle you -- even if you don't have a soda habit or a sweet tooth, per se.

Most people take in about 430 calories of added sugar every day. That's a lot of waist-widening, nutrition-void sweetness! Here are three ways to add sweet without dipping into the sugar bowl.

3 Ways to Sweeten Stealthily
In their book, The Good Housekeeping Complete Household Handbook, the domestic experts at Good Housekeeping offer these three ideas for taking in the reins on your sugar intake:

  1. In your coffee pot: Brew your morning coffee with a cinnamon stick or vanilla bean and ditch the flavored creamers. Just 1 tablespoon of flavored creamer can add 6 grams of sugar.

  2. On your breakfast: Maple syrup adds about 50 calories and 12 grams of sugar per tablespoon. For a little sweet, add fresh fruit or pure fruit purees to pancakes and waffles. Or even oatmeal. Use this Healthy Pancake Mix recipe for your next flapjack feast.

  3. In cookie recipes: You can generally get away with cutting the sugar by up to a third in recipes for cookies, cakes, or other baked goods. Try experimenting with a little less of the sweet stuff on your next batch of macaroons. Check the "No Added Sugars" option in our recipe finder for recipes that have no added sugars.

The Girl Who Chased The Moon -Sarah Addison Allen

It has been a long wait for Sarah Addison's new book and i have been looking forward to finally reading her new novel "The Girl Who Chased The Moon" once it is available for reservation at my local library. I always finds it an enjoyable experience reading her books like "Garden Spells" and "Sugar Queen" and can't wait to start on the next one ;>

Emily Benedict came to Mullaby, North Carolina, hoping to solve at least some of the riddles surrounding her mother’s life. But the moment Emily enters the house where her mother grew up and meets the grandfather she never knew, she realizes that mysteries aren’t solved in Mullaby, they’re a way of life: Here are rooms where the wallpaper changes to suit your mood. Unexplained lights skip across the yard at midnight. And a neighbor, Julia Winterson, bakes hope in the form of cakes, offering them to satisfy the town’s sweet tooth—but also in the hope of rekindling a love she fears might be lost forever.

Can a hummingbird cake really bring back a lost love? Is there really a ghost dancing in Emily’s backyard? The answers are never what you expect. But in this town of lovable misfits, the unexpected fits right in.

Trinity Harbor Trilogy - Sherryl Woods

I just finished reading the first 2 books "About That Man" and "Ask Anyone" in the Trinity Harbor Trilogy and can't wait to start reading book 3 "Along Came Trouble" once i managed to find it in the bookstore as it is not available in my local library. I like Sherryl Wood's style of writing which is quite similar to my favorite writer "Debbie Macomber" and i love that there is a strong focus on the importance of family ties in her novels. While waiting for her new novels i'm glad that i discovered Sherryl Wood's books which are just as interesting and good :>

Daisy Spencer's name is on everybody's lips…

How could the sensible daughter of Trinity Harbor's self-proclaimed patriarch have taken in the boy caught hot-wiring her car? Whether the boy is a modern-day Huck Finn or not, Trinity Harbor is in an uproar. But for Daisy, guiding the orphaned ten-year-old is easy, an escape from her own tragic past. She can ignore the town's nay-saying. The only real obstacle is…that man.

That man is the boy's uncle, Walker Ames, a tough D.C. cop who sees his unexpected nephew as his last chance at redemption. Soon he's commuting to the charming fishbowl of a town, where everyone assumes he's seduced Daisy—their best Sunday-school teacher! But to Walker, Daisy is a disconcerting mix of charming innocence and smart-mouthed excitement in a town that's not as sleepy as it looks.

Once again, the Spencers will be the talk of Trinity Harbor…

A merry-go-round horse and an armed guard in his front yard—along with half the town—is not what Bobby Spencer expects to wake up to. So with his quiet Sunday morning ruined, he isn't feeling very kindly toward the woman responsible.

But Jenna Pennington Kennedy is desperate. She needs to capture Bobby's attention so he'll hire her to plan the town's new riverfront development. It's just the sort of thing that could prove to her father she's a responsible woman, not the reckless kid of old.

The last thing Bobby wants in his life is a sexy single mom with grand ambitions. And Jenna doesn't need any more roller-coaster romances. But in Trinity Harbor, love has a way of defying expectations—ask anyone.

In Trinity Harbor, a little trouble breathes new life into love…

Sheriff Tucker Spencer has seen some action…but finding an almost-naked woman asleep in his bed leaves him speechless. Especially because this same woman, Mary Elizabeth, broke Tucker's heart six years ago by marrying a charismatic Virginia politician, a man who's just been found shot dead.

Mary Elizabeth needs Tucker's help. Needs him, period. But along with her return comes all the town gossip about their reunion romance. Even his father, who can't manage his own love life, is determined to 'impart his wisdom' regarding theirs.

Tucker's not listening to any of it. He just needs to clear Mary Elizabeth's name. But in the end, he'll confront a mystery even more confusing than murder: how the heart makes room for forgiveness and a new start.

Korean Drama - City Hall

Funny Moments Of Mi Rae & Jo Gook In The Drama

My Favourite Song In The Drama

City Hall MV - If (Jo Guk Version)

I started watching this 20 episodes SBS drama recently and it has been in my list of "To Watch" drama since it was shown in Korea last year. As expected of a Kim Seon Ah drama, it is real entertaining and funny and i have been trying to find time to watch this drama in addition to the exciting "Queen Seon Deok".

I'm impressed with the great acting and chemistry shown in the drama by Seung Won and Kim Seon Ah and the songs featured in the drama. The drama received high ratings when it started broadcasting in Korean on 29 April 2009 and it gets more and more interesting and comical when Jo Gook starts having feelings for Mi Rae and reacts in a funny way.

It was really sweet seeing how he starts to care for Mi Rae and i loves the episode where they went on a cycling cum camping trip. It really feels like a fairy tale story following how Mi Rae become mayor and has Jo Gook falling heads over heel in love with her.

City Hall is a drama that will deal with politics in a romantic comedy genre. It’s about the happenings between a young woman mayor and an elite bureaucrat. Jo Gook is an exceedingly smart government official. He passed the Higher Civil Service quickly, and basically is the perfect guy. But being a deputy mayor is not enough for him. He lives with the dream of becoming South Korea’s President. He should have easily gone straight to the top, but due to an unexpected incident, he gets dispatched as a deputy mayor for a provincial small town, Inju City, where Shin Mi Rae was working.

Shin Mi Rae is a low-ranking secretary in Inju, but she works her way up in becoming the youngest City Mayor. As their paths met, they have to deal with each other’s personal and social differences. But despite their constant bickerings, would they end up in each other’s arms?

Those interested in the drama can watch it online at (http://www.mysoju.com/city-hall/). You can also find more information about the drama and pictures from (http://www.dramabeans.com/2009/12/city-hall-episode-12/).
