I Went To Cheonggyesan Mt. MV - Cyrano; Dating Agency

Cute song by the male leads (Daniel Choi, Uhm Tae-woong) of the movie "Cyrano; Dating Agency" :> I love the first song "It Was You" by the female leads Park Shin-hye and Lee Min-jung and have been listening to it daily.

5 Common Sunscreen Mistakes People Make

We all know that regularly using sunscreen is one of the best ways to prevent skin cancer. Unfortunately, many people make mistakes when it comes to wearing sunscreen. Properly applying sunscreen and following manufacturer instructions are key to maximum protection.

Common Sunscreen Mistakes

Applying sunscreen AFTER going outdoors.
Sunscreen needs to be applied 15 to 30 minutes BEFORE going outside to give it time to be absorbed into the skin. Follow manufacturer's instructions for absorption time, which is typically up to 30 minutes before heading outside. Read: How to Properly Apply Sunscreen

Not applying enough sunscreen.
Experts recommend that an adult should use about 1 ounce of sunscreen for adequate coverage. Remember that all body parts that will be exposed to the sun need to be protected. Most people forget to apply sunscreen to their face, ears, neck and feet.

Not reapplying after swimming or sweating.
Sunscreen that is not labeled "waterproof" or "water resistant" does come off while you're in the water or sweating. Even waterproof and water-resistant sunscreen provide a limited window of protection. Check the product label to learn how often to reapply it. Most provide between 45 minutes to 2 hours of coverage. Read: Which is the Best Sunscreen For Your Skin Type?

Not reapplying sunscreen at all.
Many people have the misconception that one application of sunscreen will provide all-day protection. Not true. Sunscreen generally needs to be reapplied every two hours or after exercise or water activity. Check the label for specific instructions. Read: Should You Use Sunscreen On Your Lips?

Using sunscreen only when it is sunny.
Sunscreen needs to be used on both sunny and cloudy days. Harmful UV rays can still affect people when it's cloudy. It's important to keep in mind that all people are at risk of skin damage caused by the sun's harmful UV rays, so it is crucial to wear sunscreen regardless of your skin tone or ethnicity.

I Love Japanese Drama "Hotaru No Hikari 2"

I'm abit sad that season 2 of this popular Japanese drama has come to an end as i love this drama and can't get enough of it!!! I'm sure fellow fans of the drama also feel that 11 episodes is too little and how i wish there are more episodes but i guess all good things must come to an end :< I'm hoping there will be a season 3 which focuses on Hotaru's marriage life with Takano and how she continues to be a cute himono onna ;>

It will be interesting seeing how she changes to a married himono onna and continues to entertain Takano with her strange and lovable behavior. Both Ayase Haruka and Fujiki Naohito did a great job of portraying Hotaru and Takano in the drama and they look so cute and funny. This drama is my most favorite of all the Japanese dramas i have watched throughout the years. The characters are so lovable and real and i love Hotaru in the drama as she is not afraid to be herself and even strives to be a himono onna forever despite being surrounded with perfect women like Yamada and Konatsu. I feel sorry for Seno as i love his cool character and he was so sweet in the drama and always encouraging Hotaru and guiding her along when she feels lost in her relationship with Takano. His character leaves a more lasting impression than Makoto in season 1.

Below are some pictures i found online of the final episode:

"Dong Yi" Maintains Steady Hold At No. 1 For Third Week

2010091508503347602_1
Korean actress Han Hyo-joo on the No. 1 show on Monday and Tuesday nights "Dong Yi - Jewel in the Crown" [MBC]

MBC's historical drama "Dong Yi - Jewel in the Crown" saw a decline in ratings this week but maintained its lead as the No. 1 TV series on Monday and Tuesday nights for the third consecutive week.

Figures from TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistics) on Wednesday indicated that "Dong Yi" brought in viewership ratings of 26.4 percent on September 13 and the following night, the figure rose by more than half a percent, amounting to a decrease of 2.4 percent compared to last week.

Data released by AGB Nielsen Media Research reported that the historical series also showed a slight decline compared to last week, scoring ratings of 24.5 percent on both nights.

This week's episode focused on how Suk-jong (Ji Jin-hee) struggles in choosing between Dong Yi (Han Hyo-joo) and Jang Hee-bin (Lee So-yeon) while both female characters continue on with their antagonizing relationship.

Following close behind in second place was SBS' series "Giant" with ratings of 23.4 percent on September 13 and 24.8 percent the next day, according to TNmS' chart, while seeing ratings of 23.6 percent on Monday and 24.2 percent on Tuesday on AGB's polls.

The new KBS series "Sungkyunkwan Scandal," starring Micky Yoochun, Park Min-young and Song Joong-ki, took the No. 3 spot with viewership ratings in the seven to eight percent range.

In Love With Gossip Girl Season 4

I just watched episode 1 of this highly anticipated and popular drama "Gossip Girl Season 4" and loves it!!! I can't wait for more and it will be interesting seeing S & B at the same college when they return to New York after their adventures in Paris. I can't believe Georgina's baby is really Dan's although he looks so adorable and has a cute name Milo :> I really hope Chuck & B will get back together as they are my favorite couple in the show and it is always a joy seeing them together. Gossip Girl 4 ROCKS!!!

GOSSIP GIRL

Found this interesting article online at (http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2010/09/13/gossip-girl-season-4-episode-1-belles-de-jour-tv-recap/)
which contains a detailed summary of episode 1 to share with fellow GG fans:

Bonjour, Upper East Siders! Summer is over, and you know what that means—it’s time for another season of The CW’s addictive soap.

The last time we saw the “Gossip Girl” gang, everything was going topsy-turvy. Chuck and Blair broke up, then made up, then broke up again after she found out that he had (ew!) slept with Jenny Humphrey. Former power couple Dan and Serena spent the night together, prompting her to break things off with Nate.

Then much of the cast left New York City behind for the summer. Jenny went to live with her mother, where we can only hope she stays for a good, long time. S and B jetted off to Paris. Lonely Chuck went to Prague and promptly got shot. Dan, though, stayed behind in Brooklyn—and was confronted by an incredibly pregnant Georgina, who claimed that he was the father of her baby.

Let’s begin with that plotline. Georgina apparently had the baby in July and has been living with Dan ever since. At the top of the episode, we learn that while Nate knows about the kid—his name is Milo—Dan has managed somehow to keep his paternity a secret from everyone else he knows.

When Vanessa arrives at his doorstep, fresh from her ridiculously implausible summer internship with CNN, she learns about Georgina and Milo and is immediately suspicious: “We’re talking about Georgina Sparks! Her hair lies!” Dan tells her that they haven’t done a paternity test on the baby yet, since it couldn’t be done during G’s third trimester and they still haven’t gotten around to it. He hasn’t signed the baby’s birth certificate, though.
He’s right to be suspicious, since Georgie is definitely up to something. We see her speaking furtively—and half in Russian—to someone on the phone, telling him that she “needs a little more time.” The man on the other end tells her she’s only got one day left. Mysterious!

The next day, Georgina crashes an event at Lily’s house with the baby in tow and spills the beans to Dan’s father and stepmother. Rufus, too, thinks that they have to do a paternity test—but when he says this, Georgina reaches into her bag and pulls out a document, saying that she got the test done herself. According to the resulting piece of paper, Dan is in fact Milo’s father.

At first, Rufus thinks they should dismiss those results and do another test. (Yes! That would be the intelligent thing to do!) After having a heart-to-heart with his son, though, Rufus easily gives up on that idea—and Dan signs the birth certificate. The next day, Georgina leaves the Humphrey loft, first writing on a Post-It that she’s going to the spa. Considering she takes a bunch of luggage and a passport with her, it’s safe to assume that she’s actually got other plans. She leaves an oblivious Dan with baby Milo.

There’s also plenty of drama in gay Paris. Though Serena and Blair have been having a fabulous trip, Blair’s feeling mopey because Serena has been attracting a lot more male attention. Things seem to turn around for the fine-featured brunette when she meets a fellow Manet-lover in the Musee D’orsay. His name is Louis, and he’d love to take her to dinner.
Before their conversation can continue, a man comes to Louis and says something about “Monsieur Grimaldi.” Blair’s interest is immediately piqued—she thinks this means that he must be a member of Monaco’s royal family. Excitedly, she tells Serena the good news and asks her BFF to come along to dinner with Louis, since he’s going to be bringing along a friend.

But when Louis and his buddy, Jean-Michel show up, Blair is crushed to hear that J-M is the real royal: Louis, apparently, is just his chauffeur. She sulks through dinner while Serena charms both men. Things get even worse when Blair gets a call from her mother, who tells her that Serena’s not going to Brown next year as scheduled—she, like Blair, will instead be going to Columbia.

The news is too much for Blair to take. She storms away and, after Serena finds her, tells her best friend that all she wants is to be in an environment where she won’t constantly be in Serena’s shadow. Serena tries to make nice, then tells Blair that they should worry about this later—for now, they should enjoy the company of the two handsome Frenchmen waiting inside for them. B tells S that she’s going to go inside, but that she doesn’t want Serena to follow. She’ll make up some excuse for Serena’s absence—like, say, that S fell into the fountain behind them.

“Seriously? No one’s gonna believe that,” says Serena with pity. “Wanna bet?” asks Blair, before pushing Serena into the water.

A sopping Serena goes into the restaurant and tells Blair she’ll see her in New York, then asks Jean-Michel to walk her home. Louis is excited to have Blair all to himself, but she’s only got eyes for the royal. Then Louis drops le bomb: He’s actually the Grimaldi, and Jean-Michel is his driver. He was lying in order to gauge whether Blair was interested in him for anything more than his title. Clearly, she failed the test.

Chastened, Blair heads back to the hotel to make up with Serena. “I don’t care about dating a prince,” she says, almost believably. “I don’t care about dating anyone. I just care about you. I really need my friend right now.” Because she’s a sucker, Serena accepts the apology and even allows Blair to send Gossip Girl a tip about how both queen bees will be attending Columbia that fall.

As for the other Gossip Boys—Nate has been partying a bit too hard all summer, calling girls from Chuck’s little black book. He seems read to give up the life of a crazed bachelor after meeting the intriguing Juliet. They go out for coffee. Before their date, though, we get a glimpse at Juliet’s apartment—it’s is dominated by a huge bulletin board that’s filled with newspaper clippings and other stories about every member of the show’s cast. Her computer is also open, and we can see that she’s on Gossip Girl’s website. Hmm… has GG herself finally been unmasked?

Chuck, meanwhile, is dead. Just kidding! Lily thinks he is because she receives a call from France, saying that a body with Chuck’s ID washed up in Paris. The real Chuck, however, has spent the summer with the European blond girl who rescued him after he was shot in Prague. He’s also assumed a new identity: Henry Prince, inspired by a copy of “Henry V” he saw lying on the girl’s floor when she asked him what his name was.

Now the two of them have arrived in Paris, where they’ll undoubtedly bump into B and S next episode. We can’t wait to see the sparks fly. Until then, XOXO!

I Love The Flaky Teochew 'Oor Nee' Mooncake @ Peony Jade Restaurant :>

I was at the mooncake fair at Yishun Northpoint (till 21 September, level 1 outside Bonia) on Monday and there are various choices of mooncakes to choose from (717 Durian ~ Baker's Cottage ~ Bakerzin ~ Chinatown (Da Zhong Guo) ~ Fairmont Singapore ~ Four Seasons Durians ~ Fragrance Foodstall ~ Gim Tim ~ Holiday Inn ~ Home's Favourite ~ Hung Fai ~ Peony Jade ~ SDS ~ The Regent ~ Yang Hua ~ Yu Ai).

I have been wanting to buy a box of The Original Ex-Crown Prince Flaky Teochew 'Oor Nee' Mooncake from Peony Jade Restaurant after reading about how delicious and popular it is online and in the newspaper and magazines. This delightful treat is created by Chef Soh Yiak Eng, who was previously from the Crown Prince Hotel’s mooncake team, and pioneered the original yam paste mooncake. I have never been a fan of Teochew style mooncake and always prefers the traditional lotus paste mooncake but decided to give it a try this year as i'm curious if it is as yummy as described in the reviews and also because i'm a yam paste lover :>  It costs S$46/- for a box of 4 'Oor Nee' mooncakes with single yolk and i paid S$41.40/- after 15% discount for Citibank credit card holders. OCBC credit card holders are entitled to 20% discount. I was not disappointed after trying out the mooncake as the yam paste filling is perfect, not too dry or sweet and really leaves me craving for more! The only down side is the flaky pastry, as it can get a little messy when you eat unlike the traditional mooncake.  I'm tempted to get another box during this weekend so that i can eat it during the Mid-Autumn festival on the 22nd next Wednesday.

10 Tips to Keep Germs Out of Your Cosmetics

The hand sanitizers popping up everywhere lately are potent reminders of the importance of hygiene in preventing the spread of disease. But did you know many items in your bathroom cabinet can also transmit harmful bacteria? Here are 10 ways to avoid contamination.
  1. If you have acne, don’t use a reusable loofah. Acne bacteria can end up on the loofah, where it can be spread to other parts of your body.
  2. Don't leave jars of cream in the shower. Humidity can make the ingredients less effective and promote the growth of fungi. Always screw lids on jars and tubes and keep in a cool dark place.
  3. Never use saliva to wet makeup brushes or wipe makeup out of your eye. Bacteria from your mouth can cause eye infections.
  4. Throw out all lipsticks and glosses used within a week of the appearance of a cold sore.
  5. Never share makeup with others. Mascara and other eye makeup can spread highly contagious conjunctivitis (pink eye), and sharing lipsticks and glosses can lead to herpes infection (cold sores).
  6. Wash makeup brushes once a month to prevent the spread of acne bacteria.
  7. Sponges are breeding grounds for bacteria. Makeup sponges should be washed once a week, dried thoroughly before use and replaced frequently.
  8. Don't put dirty fingers in your jar of cream—wash your hands first.
  9. Toss old or expired products. Preservatives become less effective with age, leaving products vulnerable to contamination. Always check the expiration date, particularly with natural or organic products, which sometimes don’t contain preservatives at all.
  10. Always wipe tweezers with alcohol before using.

Garnier Pure Active Roll-On

Garnier

I was having terrible pimple outbreak for the whole of last week and had 3 big and red pimples popping up at the same time all on the left side of my face!!! I was feeling really grumpy the whole week and did not even feel like looking at myself in the mirror!!

I was lucky to discover the new Garnier Pure Active Roll-On, which is designed for fighting spots. Saw it's advertisement while watching TV last week and decided to purchase it at Watsons last Sunday as i was really desperate to get rid of my irritating pimples and my current pimple cream wasn't effective and makes the area around the pimples very dry and itchy.

According to the advertisement, the Garnier roll-on is designed to dry out your spots in the first instance, and then continue to treat them by soothing the skin and helping smooth out marks. It claims that you will be able to see improvements to your skin condition within a day and there is even a money back guarantee! Application is so easy and the roller feels cool when applied to my pimples which was real soothing and stopped the itch. I was so happy when I saw my 3 "buddies" become smaller and not as reddish the next morning!! The roll-on is really a life saver and only cost S$19.90/-. I'm now using it daily till my 3 "buddies" completely disappeared :) the only bad thing about the roller is that it will make the skin around my pimple area dry but it is ok after I apply extra moisturizer. Do give the Garnier roll-on a try if you are facing pimple problems like me ;>
